A My Hero Academia game? Just what you were jonesing for.
My Hero Academia: One’s Justice is a battle action game destined for western release on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch in 2018, Bandai Namco has announced. It had previously been confirmed only for PS4 and Switch in Japan.
Developed by Byking, My Hero Academia: One’s Justice boasts “massive stage destruction”, something we’re still waiting on Crackdown 3 to deliver, and will have players bouncing around off walls and flying through the sky as they fight it out.
So far, only franchise protagonist Izuku Midoriya and delightful villain Tomura Shigaraki have been confirmed as appearing, although we expect to see many more favourites announced soon. Check out the trailer below:
For those not aware, My Hero Academia is an ongoing manga series and popular anime set in a world in which superpowers, called “quirks”, are the norm. It’s been a hot favourite on the manga and anime fandom scenes this past year, possibly due to the huge number of varied characters. Everyone loves the frog girl, for example.
We’ll have to see if this popularity translates into western game sales. Attack on Titan, another big manga franchise to poke into mainstream awareness recently, seems to have sold well enough to justify Koei Tecmo bringing the sequel over, too, but hype wise it seemed to sink without a trace. On the other hand, the endless Naruto and Dragon Ball games seem to do super well, and this looks more in line with that style of game than Attack on Titan’s unusual gameplay.
My Hero Academia: One’s Justice lets you destroy cities as you battle villains, coming west next year on all major platforms posted first on http://ift.tt/2k0LiGW
