Sony just dropped the biggest trailer of the night at the Paris Games Week showcase, and it was for The Last of Us Part 2.
The company decided to close off the show with what’s probably the best thing shown today. It actually wasn’t easy to tell what game was shown, but we suspected it was for Last of Us Part 2.
The reason is that neither Ellie nor Joel were shown here. Instead, we got a glimpse at some of the other supporting characters, facing their own struggles.
According to creative director Neil Druckmann, the trailer represents a technical leap for developer Naughty Dog. Druckmann gave the example of advanced lighting, character detail, muscle deformation, and the upgraded performance capture tech.
The trailer sadly didn’t bring us any new information, such as a release date, but it’s definitely worth a watch. Beware, though, it’s pretty violent and may not be safe for work.

For more on The Last of Us Part 2, give this short behind-the-scenes video a watch. It has everyone’s favourite director, Neil Druckmann, taking about the reason why they decided to show off new characters, and how it all fits together with he theme of ‘hate’ overriding the story.
The Last of Us Part 2 does not yet have a release date.
