Nintendo was clearly not ready for the rush of Animal Crossing fans, and is offering in-game premium currency to say sorry.
Of all Nintendo properties, few are better suited to mobile markets and audiences than Animal Crossing, which explains why fans were so excited for when Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp’s launched on Tuesday. Unfortunately, the game has been plagued with server issues over the past two days, preventing many players from getting access to the game. In response, Nintendo has offered a direct apology along with 20 Leaf Tickets while it tries to resolve the issue.
Both the apology and reward notices were provide in-game, as noted by Eurogamer. “The issue is still occurring intermittently, but please be aware that we are investigating it and will resolve it as soon as possible.”
The Leaf Tickets can be claimed by players logging in within the next month. Considering Leaf Tickets are Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp’s premium currency, that’s not a bad apology.
Eurogamer also noted that Animal Crossing is providing all kinds of error codes preventing players from accessing the game, but Nintendo will likely have those resolved in due time as well.
Better service than Tom Nook usually provides, if you ask me.
