'Roblox' Gets Big Cross-Platform Update, Mobile Players Can Now Play With Xbox Players

Roblox [Free] is an incredibly popular cross-platform game that lets its players do pretty much whatever they want, and now it's grown even more by allowing Xbox One players to play along with the ones on mobile (and PC). This new update brings the over 60 million active players together in a way similar to what Mojang did with Minecraft's Better Together update. This is a pretty big deal for one of the biggest games in the world right now (even if it doesn't get the attention it deserves sometimes). Currently, Roblox is the number 2 Adventure game on the App Store with 4.7 average rating, a ton of players, and plenty of room to grow.

Roblox has managed to get all those millions of players because it provides them with the opportunity to design any kind of user-generated game they want, from playing cops and robbers, become race drivers, and everything else you can imagine. It's like Minecraft, but the focus is less on what the game comes with and more on what you can do with what the game provides. And I'm glad to see another very popular game going the cross-platform way; I'm hoping that this is a trend we will continue seeing.
