Star Wars: Battlefront 2 – General Grievous 3D model found in game files

One of the earliest leaks for Star Wars: Battlefront 2 revealed references to General Grievous in the game files.

That leak originated from the Star Wars: Battlefront 2 closed alpha, and it’s also when we found out about almost the entirety of the heroes roster.

Fast forward to this week’s release of the Battlefront 2 EA / Origin Access trial, and almost every leaked hero made it into the game. The ones that didn’t, like Captain Phasma, have been confirmed for release post-launch. All except poor old General Grievous.

Game files made mention of Grievous on several occasions, and the currently available trial – being essentially the full launch game – contains even more traces. There’s an untextured model of the prequel era hero in the game, as discovered by Reddit user Piplight.

The Reddit user noted that he once again couldn’t find anything pertaining to other fan-requested heroes like Obi-Wan Kenobi. Still, you should take the information with a grain of salt for now. Although this isn’t the first time references to Grievous are found, the 3D model could be a fake.

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 is out November 17 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Deluxe Edition owners get to play on November 14.
