GDC 2017 - 'ExoGears 2' is a Very Slick Mech Combat Game with Up to 6-Person Multiplayer

This week we were able to sit down with Zombot Studio to check out the progress on their upcoming mech battling game ExoGears 2, and I really like what I saw. For me, mech games are usually too slow and often too complicated, but ExoGears does a great job of incorporating a boost which lets you zip around your opponent. There's also a cool variety of weapons and a lot of strategy in how you're able to use them with the recharging energy bar which prevents you from simply spamming your attacks over and over. Take a look at our hands-on demo of ExoGears 2 below.

One of the most exciting features of ExoGears 2 will be the online multiplayer which will support 1v1 battling as well as 3v3. I can imagine things will get pretty hectic when there's 6 giant mechs all battling it out in an arena. There's also the incredibly deep customization system and a single-player campaign for those times when you maybe aren't feeling quite so social. It's all looking very good so far and the early testing Zombot has been doing in our forums has been promising, so keep an eye out for ExoGears 2 to launch sometime later this year.
