An early look at the vaulting feature in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

Anyone who played PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will attest to how frustrating it is to have to run all the way around to bypass waist-high walls in the game. I would even go as far as saying that trying to jump over a wall got all of us killed at least once.

Developer Bluehole is aware of these frustrations, and after a recent trip to a motion capture studio, the team has returned to implement some what they captured into the game. Gameplay and animation lead Paweł Smolewski showcased a couple of fresh mantling and vaulting animations he’s been working on.

These are obviously still in development, but they showcase exactly the type of solution players have been asking for. The only thing left to know is how quickly they will be performed in the game.

There’s sadly not ETA yet for when these will make it into the game, but hopefully it’s soon enough.
