'Cubiques 2', a Rapid-Fire Sequel to the Atmospheric Puzzle Game 'Cubiques', Has Rolled Onto the App Store

You may read about Cubiques 2 [$0.99], the latest entry in Dilmer Games' minimalistic puzzle series, and wonder "but I only just finished the first game - how is a sequel coming so soon?". You certainly wouldn't be misplaced in your confusion, as we previously wrote about the release date of the original Cubiques [$0.99] a mere three months ago back in June. However, it's a testament to the hard work of the one-man development team that the sequel was programmed and designed all within 35 days, and while Cubiques 2 does not appear to be some sort of major mechanical shake-up, more of the same with an even greater emphasis on atmospheric aesthetic design is certainly a good thing. After such a short turnaround time, Cubiques 2 is now available to download on the App Store for $0.99.

The most notable difference in Cubiques 2 is undoubtedly its monochromatic graphical style, which is a nice way of differentiating itself from its predecessor as well as capitalising on the simplistic Monument Valley-esque visuals. Multiple cubes are also controllable within Cubiques 2, and should lead to even more dense and difficult puzzles compared to the first title. Otherwise, it's business as usual - seventy unique levels, simple swipe controls, and the trademark 3D isometric design that is enhanced by iOS's Metal feature all culminate in an impressive puzzle package from an indie developer that has really begun to carve out a niche for themselves on the App Store. Download Cubiques 2 now on the App Store, and let us know your thoughts and impressions on the game's forum thread.
