Nintendo has given its Animal Crossing mobile project a name and a release window.
As promised earlier this week, Nintendo officially unveiled Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp in a Direct this morning. The free-to-play game is due for release late in November for Android, and iOS.
As the name might suggest, Pocket Camp is a game where you build a campsite. The idea is to expand and improve it over time by buying furniture, adding amenities, and inviting other animals to hang around.
The more an animal likes your camp, the more they’ll visit, increasing their Friendship Level with you. The gameplay trailer showed different affinities towards the pieces of furniture depending on the animal. Speaking of furniture, it can be crafted with the help of a blacksmith and using crafting materials you receive from visiting other camps.
You can also use the finishing minigame to generate crafting materials. Being a free-to-play game, you’ll be able to pay to speed up the building time, or gain the resources and materials needed for crafting. This is done through Leaf Tickets, which can be bought with real-world money as well as earned in-game.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp borrows elements and characters from other Animal Crossing games, too. This can be seen in its real-time gameplay, and the return of Tom Nook.
You can pre-register through here to get notified when Pocket Camp hits the store.
