PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is being played more hours daily than any other non-Valve game on Steam

Having recently cracked 10 million copies sold, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is slowly breaking other, more crucial records.

The same Steam audience that made the game such a hit in sales, is playing it every day more than they have any other non-Valve game on Steam.

The newly uncovered data was posted by Steam Spy, which, as always, provides context for many of the Steam phenomena we’ve seen over the years. PUBG is pretty special, though, even compared to some of the other titans like GTA 5, and Fallout 4.

The graph you see above shows the daily playtime of games on Steam. Notice how Battlegrounds enters the picture in March (its release month) and continues to grow and grow. It not only dwarfs other, non-Valve games in the daily hour count, it also goes against the typical model of big launch numbers followed by a dwindling player base afterwards.

Almost every game on this list has yet to beat its high launch numbers, but Battlegrounds does it on a weekly basis. The game is already eating away at the audience for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, one of the biggest games on Steam. And it proved more engaging, too, for both the CSGO audience and the general player base.

What’s the next record for PUBG to destroy, I wonder.
