You can now try Destiny 2’s latest Crucible map, Eternity, even if you don’t jump into Trials of the Nine

Destiny 2 has a new PvP map, and it’s pretty cool.

A new Crucible map was added to Destiny 2 this past weekend alongside the inaugural Trials of the Nine PvP event. (Not sure what that is? Check in with the Activities glossary in our Destiny 2 guide.)

Called Eternity, it’s a really different-looking map, with loads of white sand, strange purple structures, and fluttering golden streamers. It seems to tie in visually with the Emissaries of the Nine at the Spire, and doesn’t really look like anything else in Destiny 2.

Although it originally debuted as a Trials of the Nine-exclusive map, the good news is that Eternity is now available in Destiny 2’s Competitive Crucible playlist, so anybody brave enough to venture into this tougher, objective-focused mode can take a peek.

Although the Competitive playlist is not a full ranked mode doesn’t require a pre-made team, it’s worthwhile getting a crew together as it really calls for teamwork and co-ordination. Playing as a solo can be pretty frustrating. Unfortunately if that’s not your thing you might not get a look at Eternity; Destiny 2 segregates maps by their suitability for Competitive or Quickplay games.

Did you play trials of the Nine this weekend? I did not, and will never be good enough at Destiny 2 to do so. But I got a sweet (level one) Trials of the Nine weapon from my clan, so that was pretty cool. Big fan of that system!
