Ubisoft has provided a list of current known issues with Assassin’s Creed Origins on all platforms.
Assassin’s Creed Origins released today on PC, PS4 and Xbox One and there are a few launch issues Ubisoft is aware of and are working to correct.
Below you will find the list and some of the issues noted are specific to each platform. Workarounds and status are also noted.
If you plan on picking the game up, be sure to look over the Assassin’s Creed Origins reviews round up. There’s aren’t too many at the moment as the game is rather large. We’ll keep updating the list as more reviews trickle in.
You can also look over our Assassin’s Creed Origins review and check out some of the random things we’ve come across so far. We’ve run into cranky crocodiles, friendly children, locusts raining from the sky, and more. It doesn’t seem as though we’ve pet a cat just yet. I could be wrong.

Assassin’s Creed Origins current list of known issues
All Plattforms
Game crashes when trying to open a picture in Full screen while marked.
- Description: Pressing the “Y” Button to view a picture taken in photo mode in full screen on which a marker has been set previously will result in a crash.
- Workaround: Be sure not to mark photos on the map in the meantime.
- Status: Will be fixed with next Title Update.
Objectives disappear in “The Hyena” main quest.
- Description: The objectives may disappear during the main quest “The Hyena” when quitting to the title screen or closing the console during the final clue cinematic.
- Workaround: We advise to investigate the clues to unblock them.
- Status: Will be fixed with next Title Update
Master Seer increases fire damage on Bayek.
- Description: The Master Seer ability increased the fire damage inflicted to Bayek when he is the source of the fire.
- Status: Will be addressed with a future update.
Xbox One specific issues
Stuck on table in Krocodilopolis arena lobby.
- Description: Players might get stuck on the table in the Krocodilopolis arena lobby.
- Workaround: We advise to reload the save game.
- Status: Under Investigation.
Stuck after using Overpower ability on Diovicos.
- Description: Players might remain stuck if they use the Overpower ability in order to kill Diovicos during the main quest “The Crocodile’s Jaws”.
- Status: Will be addressed with a future update.
NPC Thutmose does not load properly.
- Description: The NPC Thutmose might not load properly inside the case during the side quest “Blood in the Water”, thus players might not be able to interact with him.
- Workaround: Reload the quest objectives in the quest menu.
- Status: Will be addressed with a future update.
Hippodrome not accessible
- Description: Under certain circumstances, players might not be able to enter the Hippodrome after exiting the trying to re-entering the activity.
- Workaround: A reboot should resolve this issue.
- Status: Will be addressed with a future update.
Arena Leaderboards not being updated
- Description: Leaderboards from arenas might not update after recovering from a Xbox Live connection loss on the Victory Screen.
- Workaround: Reboot the game should resolve it.
- Status: Under Investigation.
Game title in Russian
- Description: The game title displays in Russian during the installation process from a disc.
- Workaround: The game title auto-corrects itself as soon as the game installation process is completed.
- Status: Resolved with distributed discs in the future.
PC specific issues
HBCC causes performance dropsDescription: Enabling HBCC on AMD Radeon settings can result in a drop of performance.
- Workaround: We advise to turn off this setting until AMD resolved the issue with a future driver.
- Status: Will be addressed with a future driver update on AMD side.
NPCs not loaded properly
- Description: Some NPCs may not appear properly loaded on low-end CPUs or when extensive processes are running in the background.
- Workaround: We advise to try disabling other background applications & run the in-game benchmark tool to double-check your current setup. Performance Issues – FAQ
- Status: Will be addressed with the next Title update.
Crash with 32-core PC
- Description: The game may crash when playing on a 32-core PC.
- Workaround: Follow the steps provided in the following FAQ.
- Status: Will be addressed with the next Title update.
