Final Fantasy 15 PC “tech test” shown at GDC 2017, Tabata has “no comment” on port possibility

Final Fantasy 15 is definitely … not confirmed for PC.

Final Fantasy 15 is probably going to come to PC, possibly sometime after Square Enix gets overs it current DRM freak out.

The publisher has never confirmed a port is inbound, but Final Fantasy 15 director Hajime Tabata has said he wants to bring it to PC, although the PC port wouldn’t surface for at least a year after Final Fantasy 15’s release.

Given Square Enix’s increasing support for PC gaming we can probably expect it to happen eventually, and Tabata’s presence at a GDC 2017 event for Nvidia’s new GTZ 1080 Ti, presenting a Final Fantasy 15 Gameworks demo video, certainly gives us more reason to hope.

PCGamesN reports the video showed Final Fantasy 15 characters running through fields of grass, showing off Nvidia’s TurfEffects, as well as fluid and fur dynamics. Tabata said the video showed “the current status of our game engine, Luminous Studio Pro, which is made possible by this collaboration with Gameworks”.

Asked directly whether Final Fantasy 15 is coming to PC, Tabata said “no comment” and said the video showed “tech tests”. But he was smiling, apparently.

Final Fantasy 15 released on PS4 and Xbox One in November 2016, after ten years of development. Since its eventual appearance already feels like a miracle, a PC release will probably split the heavens and bring about Armageddon.
