If there’s any video that’s going to sell you on Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, it’s this one

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice looks like an evolved version of Dark Souls combat with spectacle fighter-style moves.

The game always looked great in trailers, whether it be gameplay, or in the many behind-the-scenes videos, but this new footage is on another level.

The reason is that it shows uncut gameplay from one area of the game, demoing gameplay systems along the way. It’s not clear if the entire HUD has been turned off or if the game actually utilises minimal HUD icons, but it nonetheless looks spectacular.

You can watch it below, via IGN. It starts off with a boss fight, before you get to see the combat really shine when dealing with multiple opponents.

There’a bit of story, exploration and puzzle solving in there, too. Overall, it’s a decent look at what the game has to offer, which is great because it’s not that far off. If I have one complaint, it’s that the camera is a little too close to Senua.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is out August 8 on PC, and PS4.
