Stardew Valley Switch port is going “very well” with last of the bugs fixed, says Chucklefish Games

Still no news on a Stardew Valley Switch release date, but it’s good news so far.

Stardew Valley has been out PC and console for a while, but if you cast your mind back to the Nindies showcase earlier this year, you’ll recall that the title is coming to the Switch this year, and what’s more, it’ll be available with the multiplayer feature.

Nintendo Life reported that Chucklefish games’ Tom Coxon was keeping the release date under his hat, so as not to “disappoint if testing turns something up,” but it looks like things are going pretty well with the port.

Over on Twitter, Chucklefish CEO and Designer, Finn Brice, said that “Stardew Valley Switch is coming along very well.”

The last of the bugs have been fixed and the game is being submitted for testing this week.

In earlier tweets, he restated that the studio would announce a release date as soon as they were “absolutely sure” about it.

“Testing is going very well and I’ll make sure we let you know if anything major comes up. Things are looking good at the moment though and we’re getting close.”

It’s reassuring to know it’s all going smoothly.

The multiplayer feature will roll out across all platforms, beginning with PC and Nintendo Switch.

Local multiplayer, split-screen and PVP aren’t planned for the game right now, but you can get married to your friends’ characters, and that’s kind of like PvP, if married people anecdotes are anything to go by.

Stardew Valley is expected to hit the Switch between Q3 and the end of 2017.
