Australians can get their hands on the world’s only “real” Platinum PlayStation trophies

PlayStation has made your virtual bragging rights into real world objects.

PlayStation Australia is giving away four official replica Platinum trophies in a new competition. They look pretty good; you can see them in the video and images below. I don’t think they’re actually platinum, because that would be ridiculously expensive.

A PR representative speaking for PlayStation Australia told us this is the first offer of its kind in the world, which seems kind of ridiculous; why hasn’t Sony thought of this before? Even without the rarity factor, I imagine big PlayStation fans and dedicated trophy hunters will be pretty keen to grab one.

I love the way the person in the video brushes away their other trophies like they mean nothing. Sports? Academia? These mean nothing in comparison to completing open world content checklists!

Anyway, if you want to get one you have to be an Australian – soz – and also among the first to earn the Platinum trophy for some upcoming games. FIFA 18 is the first of the bunch, so if you’re down under and manage to nab the elusive platinum, take a screenshot and post your entry in accordance with the competition rules, as outlined on PlayStation Australia’s website.

Gran Turismo Sport and Call of Duty: WW2 will also be featured in the promotion, with the fourth title to be revealed at a later date.
