Nintendo has fanned the flames of fan anticipation for its first Nintendo Direct of the year by setting fire to cute mini-robot Chibi-Robo.
Fans are salivating at the prospect of a new Nintendo Direct, with leaks and rumours suggesting an imminent broadcast will reveal brand new titles for the Nintendo Switch.
With Nintendo itself pouring gasoline on the rumours with an official tweet, if the Nintendo Direct doesn’t happen in the next 24 hours we’d expect an internet revolt. You know how games fans, can be, right? Feisty!

Nintendo still has plenty of titles for the Nintendo Switch that it hasn’t shown off in detail; Kirby Star Allies, Fire Emblem, Bayonetta 3, Metroid Prime 4, and new Pokemon and Yoshi games – and that’s just first-party releases.
The hype is contagious, and not to be outdone (or let rivals steal the limelight), plenty of other publishers want to get in on the buzz, including Bethesda, Ubisoft and Sega.

So will a Nintendo Direct happen in the next 24 hours? Watch the skies, because it’s very likely to go down with very short notice.
Previous Nintendo Directs have kicked off at 2pm GMT. Just sayin’.
